The Grand St Leger Hotel is pleased to announce that detailed planning permission has been granted for the development of part of the former Doncaster Bloodstock Sales site to create a major restaurant development, a function room and bar to complement the existing hotel and thirty three new bedrooms.
The multi million pound scheme will create over 100 jobs when completed and will boost the local economy from inception with local companies and workforce being employed wherever possible.
The formidable position of the hotel, on the major gateway into Doncaster towards the racecourse, means that the development must be sympathetic to the area but creative in its design. The current derelict area to the rear of the hotel and the disused toilet block and police box will be transformed as part of the hotel extension.
The hotel is a landmark building and we are working closely with DMBC and project consultants The Benell Group, to create a scheme that the local community can be proud of.
The Indus, which was a legendary restaurant across Yorkshire, will return in a brand new purpose built unit providing a stunning bar, restaurant, private dining area and roof lounge.
We anticipate that with such a strong brand, The Indus will attract guests from across the region. www.theindus.net
This whole development will transform the current derelict and unused buildings into a major strategic leisure & hospitality venue that will attract inward investment and tourism from throughout the region.
