Cusworth Hall (www.visitdoncaster.co.uk) is an imposing 18th century country house set in extensive landscaped parklands, once home to the Battie-Wrightson family. The Grade 1 listed house is deemed a site of special interest due to the preservation of all elements of a Georgian country house. It houses displays on the history of Doncaster and its people.
Conisbrough Castle (www.conisbroughcastle.org.uk) is approximately 7 miles from the hotel. This 12th century attraction is considered to be one of the finest examples of medieval architecture in Europe.
Doncaster Racecourse (www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk) home of the oldest classic — the St Leger has recently been redeveloped at a cost of £55million. The racecourse now boasts some of the best facilities in Europe. Doncaster Rovers Football Club (www.doncasterroversfc.premiumtv.co.uk) recently promoted to the Coca Cola Championship play at the new Keepmoast Stadium which opened in 2007. Ticket prices range from £8-£22. The stadium is also home to Doncaster Belles and Doncaster Lakers.
Positioned centrally within the UK, Doncaster is close to the major motorway network and also has excellent rail links; only a 90 minute train ride from London and 3 hours from Scotland.
